Cambridge, MA, September 20, 2018 – Seasoned Project Managers and Superintendents met with several Walsh Brothers team members for a presentation to pass on their experience and insight regarding the currently ongoing academic residence hall project. The conversations allowed for vital opportunities to work with other teams, discuss challenges and explain how solutions were reached.
During the presentation, participants were given a tour of the site and had the opportunity to ask questions of the onsite team to help determine the reasoning behind why certain construction methods were chosen over others. Certain areas of interest began to emerge including customized approaches to proper temperature control, cooling and insulation of concrete. Site leaders discussed in detail how strategies were thoroughly developed and the importance of communication to find the best alternative. They pointed out where items would be further reviewed, developed and built as the project progresses, as well as how attendees may be able to implement what they learned on their own project sites.
At Walsh Brothers, we emphasize working together to share ideas and knowledge. Additional presentations and site tours will be offered to the “next generation” of builders at different phases of construction of this important project so more information can be taken away for the future.
