Clinical Services Expansion
Lahey Health (Lahey Clinic North Shore)
The phased Clinical Services Expansion program for Lahey Health included a large addition and extensive renovations. Building on a relationship of 15+ years, Walsh Brothers was a natural choice to pioneer the construction component of this complex facility as the firm had previously done renovations to the same building. Ten years prior, Walsh Brothers had executed a large enabling package that included budget enhancements, additions, parking garages, and two years of conceptual budgeting — all necessary for the commencement of construction.
“Walsh Brothers clearly stands out among their peers and working with your team on the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care was an extremely positive experience.”

One of the initial and most challenging phases of the project was the relocation of the existing ambulatory, staff, and patient entrances to the Emergency Department. The existing entrances were situated at the center of the footprint for the new addition. Another unique requirement of the project was the relocation of mechanical equipment for state-of-the art technology, including successfully transporting a linear accelerator and MRI units. Careful planning, communication, and attention to detail were essential.
