Amgen Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts was designed to house Amgen staff and to attract other collaborators such as biotech startups and medical institutions in one state-of-the-art research building.

This 363,000-square-foot facility accommodates a wide variety of lab and office functions and is supported by a new data center for the company’s East Coast operations. The building’s mechanical system provides for flexibility in laboratory configurations and collaborations. Thorough analyses of foundation and earth support systems led the team to select slurry wall for several compelling reasons, including the ability to build to the zero lot lines on all sides of the urban site.
