Boston, MA, May 8, 2019 — On May 2nd, the combined houses of the Massachusetts Legislature announced the Resolution celebrating North America Occupational Safety and Health Week (May 6 to May 10), as well as Occupational Safety and Health Professional Day of May 8th. Thomas A. Rich, Corporate Safety Director at Walsh Brothers, Incorporated, Past-President GBC ASSP, Current Government Affairs Chair; and Richard O’Keefe, past Government Affairs Chair, were in attendance to hear the Resolution read into the Senate roll-call.
This annual event is the culmination of the efforts of our very own Thomas A. Rich CSP, ASP, CHST, Chair Government Affairs, Greater Boston Chapter ASSP, who works diligently behind the scenes with Senator Walter F. Timilty, (D) Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth District and Representative Louis Kafka, (D) 8Th Norfolk District.
Thomas Rich and Hannah Buntich, Chief of Staff for Senator Timilty, spent weeks organizing the draft and Hannah’s staff collected the signatures from the State Legislature in support of our cause to reduce occupational injuries for the American worker.
Greater Boston Chapter ASSP offers our sincere appreciation to Senator Walter F. Timilty, Representative Louis L. Kafka and the rest of the Massachusetts State Legislature for their continued support of National Safety Week.
