Walsh Brothers is proud to announce that the Cambridge Health Alliance’s Center for Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry project, located in Somerville, Massachusetts, was named a winner of both a AGC Build America Award, and a CMAA, New England Chapter, Project Achievement Award.
The accelerated, 68,000 SF, multi-phased project provided the Cambridge Health Alliance with 69 patient beds, a cafeteria with a full-service meal prep kitchen, and an overall welcoming and warm environment for a severely underserved population.
The project addressed a dire community issue- a mental health crisis that was intensifying as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team’s frequent dialogue with clinicians conveyed the life challenges that children, adolescents, and their families face daily, which showed us the insurmountable impact this project would have on many families and our community.
This vital renovation has made CHA the largest provider of child and adolescent inpatient mental health services in Massachusetts. We want to congratulate the entire project team on this honorable award. The passion and hard work put into this project is shown through its speedy and successful completion. Thank you to everyone that made this project possible!
