Greater Boston Breathes Better.

Walsh Brothers, is proud to be the first Boston area construction manager taking a leadership role in promoting emissions reduction through the Greater Boston Breathes Better program. By implementing no-idling policies and pollutant reduction measures, and by encouraging use of electric-powered equipment on all of our sites, Walsh Brothers is significantly minimizing construction impact in the neighborhoods where we are working. Our efforts are especially beneficial to many of our firm’s urban projects, where surrounding populations may have existing conditions such as heart disease, asthma or other respiratory problems that are most sensitive to the health effects of fine particles found in diesel exhaust. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Walsh Brothers’ leadership in this area.

The Walsh Cup & Pediatric Cancer.

Walsh Brothers hosts an annual golf tournament and charity event designed to bring industry partners, clients and employees together to further the firm’s commitment to relationship building, collaborative teamwork and charitable outreach. The Walsh Cup is held every September at The Charles River Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts. Golfers and guests enjoy a competitive and spirited event followed by a charity auction and entertainment. Proceeds from the 2017 Walsh Cup were donated to pediatric cancer care and research.

Restoring America’s Oldest Merchant Vessel.

While excavating land for the new Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital on Boston Harbor, the Walsh Brother’s crew uncovered an old timber basin – an underground storage area that was used in the 19th century to store spare parts for wooden sailing vessels. Walsh Brothers then donated 300, 150-year old timbers, each weighing 10,000 pounds to the the Mystic Seaport Museum for the much needed restoration of the Charles W. Morgan, the last remaining commercial whaleship in the world.
