BOSTON, MA, August 26, 2024 – The Walsh Brothers internship program is a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering the next generation of industry leaders. Earlier this year, we welcomed a diverse group of interns across various departments, including construction, operations, and finance.
Our interns engaged in significant projects at esteemed locations such as the Holyoke Veterans Home, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. These opportunities allowed them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, gaining valuable insights for their professional growth.
Throughout their internships, the interns worked closely with project teams, actively participating in busy and dynamic job sites. This hands-on involvement encouraged them to ask questions and provide support while introducing fresh perspectives that aided problem-solving. The ability to interpret challenges and devise effective solutions quickly became a crucial skill, ensuring project timelines were met.
During their time with us, interns reported significant growth in their technical knowledge. Many expressed newfound comfort with applications such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Open Space. They also learned the importance of clear and effective communication, recognizing its critical role in a project’s success.
To further enrich their internships, we organized field trips to various Walsh Brothers job sites and subcontractor facilities. These experiences provided a comprehensive view of our operations and allowed interns to see firsthand the collaborative efforts that drive successful project completion.
The 2024 Walsh Brothers summer internship program not only empowered our interns to develop their skills but also enhanced our teams through their contributions and insights.
