Integrated Sciences Complex

The Integrated Sciences Complex (ISC) represents UMass Boston’s first signature building on its campus and is the first phase of implementation of its Campus Master Plan. The new multidisciplinary sciences complex was constructed at the entrance of the bustling university and within close proximity to multiple active academic buildings.  Multiple complex facade systems compose the building’s exterior, including a “crystal” curtain wall system. The new ISC provides program space for biology, chemistry, psychology, physics, engineering, and environmental, earth, and ocean sciences. This includes new clean rooms, growth center for developmental science teaching labs, classrooms, offices, and conference rooms.

The Policy Group on Tradeswomen’s Issues’ awarded the First Annual Crushing Barriers for Women in Apprenticeship Award to Walsh Brothers for our efforts in meeting and exceeding the workforce goals for women and people of color on the project. One of the key reasons for receiving this award were the efforts of Linda Shaughnessy, Director of Workforce Diversity.
