Fenway Park Capital Improvements
Boston Red Sox
For the final installment of a 10-year cycle of major annual improvements, Walsh Brothers provided a new under-slab utility system, concession stand fit-outs, and demolition and replacement of the existing right field scoreboards at Fenway Park. Precise sequencing and scheduling of this 24 x 7 operation was critical to the success of this project.
Due to the location of the scoreboards, the demolition and replacement of the infrastructure had to be done outside the ballpark on busy Lansdowne Street. Walsh Brothers held community forums to facilitate communication with the abutters to ensure minimal disruption to the local businesses and their daily operations. These three new LED scoreboards offer better clarity for fans and increased advertising opportunities for Fenway. The project also included the demolition and construction of a large concession stand featuring a full kitchen and the replacement of the historic executive office windows along Yawkey Way. Walsh Brothers is proud to continue our 30-year partnership with the Boston Red Sox and to enhance the image of Boston’s beloved ballpark.
