Walsh Brothers to Renovate Laboratory Space at McLean Hospital
Since 1811 McLean Hospital, the first psychiatric hospital in New England, has been helping individuals and families affected by psychiatric illness. A Partners HealthCare and Harvard Medical School affiliate, McLean Hospital is dedicated to providing quality care and compassion to those whom it serves. In maintaining the hospital's world-class research programs, Walsh Brothers has been chosen as the construction manager to renovate two floors of laboratory space on the McLean Hospital campus in Belmont, Massachusetts.
The project includes approximately 6,400 square feet of renovations within the facility while ongoing research remains active throughout the construction process. The renovation is being completed in collaboration with Linea 5, Inc., the designer, and R.W. Sullivan, the MEP engineer, and will be completed in two separate phases. Phase one includes the renovation of the first floor, including the mechanical closet on the second floor, and the second phase includes the renovation of the second floor. Extensive phasing and coordination are required to ensure minimal disruption to the ongoing sensitive research being done within and adjacent to the space. This is just one of the reasons Walsh Brothers was selected as construction manager for this project. Our extensive experience building within the environment of care, while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing sensitive operations is unsurpassed. Walsh Brothers is honored to be selected as the construction manager on this important renovation project in assisting McLean Hospital in maintaining their world-class research and medical programs for the patients and families that this facility serves.
