Procter & Gamble/Gillette Selects Walsh Brothers as Construction Manager for Complex Laboratory Project at Company's South Boston Facility
Walsh Brothers has been building and renovating space at the Gillette South Boston facility complex for more than 40 years. This ongoing successful relationship has allowed Walsh Brothers the privilege of continuing to renovate space in the Gillette facility in order to provide state-of-the-art research, manufacturing and office space for employees of this world-class company. When Procter & Gamble purchased Gillette, creating one of the world's largest personal care and household product companies, they decided to move hundreds of employees from other locations in the city to the Gillette South Boston facility. Walsh Brothers, having a successful relationship constructing in the Gillette South Boston facility, was selected to manage the renovation and construction of this state-of-the-art manufacturing research complex to accommodate the move.
Walsh Brothers has been given the opportunity to continue this relationship of building at Gillette's South Boston Facility when recently awarded the sensitive Gillette 2L Extrusion Laboratory renovation project. This newly awarded project will include the demolition and renovation of 3,800 square feet of existing office space on the 2nd floor and another 3,800 sf of mechanical space upgrades in the penthouse, all within building L. This renovation will create a new prototype extrusion line in a cGMP laboratory. The project is slated to be completed in five months and was designed by Perkins + Will, RG Vanderweil and SGH Engineers. Walsh Brothers is honored to have been selected as the construction manager on this important project, and looks forward to delivering another successful project to Procter & Gamble and Gillette.
